I'd like to suggest that the club have a meeting for all current and prospective members. For that matter I would propose that we set up a scheduled monthly meeting of all members.

We have a lot of new members that I think would like to see a real meet and greet meeting.

I understand that there is a lot going on behind the scenes but I believe it is time to get everyone more involved and let everyone know what is going on. I would reccomend this meeting take place before the next round of club membership dues so that everyone gets the same info rather than hearing about it through the grapevine.

Thanks
Mark A.

P.S. Anybody seen the port-a-potties?

I couldn’t agree more! Particularly for the newer members, it would be great to meet everyone and have an opportunity to get more involved. I’ve heard several great ideas thrown around in the pits, but that seems to be where the good ideas stop. I believe if we can get a regular club meeting established we may be able to follow through on some of these things.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a place and time to have a meeting? I would recommend a local area restaurant rather than at the track. As far as a date and time, we would need to allow enough time for everyone to be notified of the meeting before we have it. I’m sure there are quite a few members that do not frequent the forum, so it may be worth mailing out a flyer (via snail mail or email) to all the members as well.

I think meetings are an absolute must for any successful club. Dinner meetings are great because you can socialize in addition to conducting business. In fact, I think the socializing is as important as discussing business.

Logan's on the Beltline will reserve what they call "the garage", which is an area just off the bar area and away from the main restaurant. Lots of clubs and companies use this for meetings or parties, but anywhere is great with me (as long as food is involved).

Although the web site is a great way to distribute information, interpretation of what's being said is up to the one who's doing the reading. I recently was extremely upset by the tone of an email sent to me by one of my colleages at work. Before returning a nasty reply, I asked my wife to read the email and she had a totally different interpretation! Needless to say, see saved me from embarrassing myself. This is not the case when speaking in person. Not only do you transfer information and ideas; you develop relationships. Relationships and friendships are going to make any club successful and FUN.
