I was curious if anyone was doing anything new this offseason? Any new karts being purchased, new engine packages, etc. As for me I am hoping to have my troubles sorted out and hopefully do a few shakedown sessions before it gets really cold (Maybe I have not waited to long). Looks to be that our shifter class is growing. Hopefully this will make for some good racing next year. Look forward to hearing what you guys have going on.

Hey Stan, Glad to hear you have the motor sorted out again.I could use a little advice if anyone can help.
I spoke with Ken Sullivan last month, and sent my paperwork/ check in to join the club (Family membership). I havent been able to get a response since (Oct 26th).
I'm not sure if i'm a member yet or not, and would really like to qualify as a track supervisor to be able to get on the track each weekend. Like evryone else, iv'e dropped a considerable amount of cash for new Kart/ trailer etc, and would really rather be driving it, than sitting home admiring it in the trailer.
Iv'e several friends that would like to join Rotax this/ next year, but its a little embarassing to say the least, to reccomend joining the club to anyone so far.
So far i'm reduced to taking days off work to run at the track during the week, courtesy of Terrence's good nature.

Can anyone give me any information on who else to contact, to a) make sure my family and i are members, and b) who/ how/ when to become a track super?

There dosen't seem to be much in the way of information for any one interested in joining the club. Iv'e spent a whole bunch of time around BTK this last few weeks, trying to find what i can, but it 'aint much...

Tom Wright is being good enough to try to find out if ken is still with us,

Any one have any ideas please?

Thanks
Andy Cave

Andy,

I am sure that someone on here should be able to help you. If someone does not contact you or post on here soon, feel free to give me a call at 256-684-7177 and I will be happy to follow up for you. I am not sure how you tried to contact anyone but your best bet is the post that you placed here. Nevertheless, give me a call if you do not get some feedback very soon. I look forward to seeing you on the track soon!!!

Andy,

I have been a member of the club for a only a couple of months now. I have made the trips up to the track to practice several times with nobody their also. Just remember that this club is in a real growth spurt with everyone doing other jobs for a living and it is the offseason. I know what you are talking about I'm not on the web sight as a member yet, however everything is really coming together at the club and we working together can really make a awesome karting club out of this. Feel free to call me and I will try to work with you on being at the track. I am there alot however the last couple of weekends I had alot to catch up on. I will talk to Ken about the tracksupervisor deal. If he is tied up I would be glad to walk you through it. Bobby letson is also someone who is at the track alot. You might want to keep in touch with him as well on his practicing schedule.

Hang in there

Stan

I have purchased a new arrow shifter. BTK is working on putting the engine on the kart. I plan on running stock shifter class in the winter series as well as rotax masters. I plan on doing the same next year at bckc. It has taking a while to get the kart up and going, the motor was in about 600 bags in the engine kit. Rudy pulled most of his hair out but has just this week finished the first motor. I hear the stock shifter classes are growing alot. I know that they run them all together at bckc, however it would be fun to run against some hoped up motors just to see.

I have 2 other people that are going to buy karts and run next year.
1 rotax master and the other has not decided what class yet.

hope to see you at the track before it gets to cold
I need all the help I can get on this shifter

Well, sorry I've been scarce. I will be at the track this Sunday, and will be happy to give Track Supervisor training to any members who want it then. We can arrange another day, too.

Again, Andy, I'm sorry you have had a difficult time with your club enrollment. We do welcome new members, and in fact, I will be very glad if you decide to help me make that process better from now on. We need a new member package, membership card, etc., which we do not have in place yet.

Tom Wright will also soon be offering Track Supervisor training, so people could also schedule with him.

See you at the track.

Thanks for all the kind help guys,
It just reinforces my first impressions of the folks at the club that iv'e met so far, as just being extremely friendly and helpfull.
Of course, y'all do realise that its all downhill once you allow an old Englishman in the club Right? I'm old enough to have been a Nigel Mansell fan when he was a young guy..

Ken, i'd be delighted to be able to help with anything you need done. Look forward to seeing you Sunday, and thanks.

Stan/ Nathan, Thanks guys.

Jason, I swear i heard Rudy muttering something about having three bolts left over and not knowing where they went... I don't know what that means??
Thanks mate..
