Race July 31st

Who's racing this week? I'm in Masters. Also, we need an thread for volunteers and a race director.

If I can remember how to put Calvin's kid kart back together, we should be there! Wish I could help in other ways but I'll also have my 2 year old in tow....

Any other kid karts?

I'll be there in shifters (provided my engine gets back in time).

I am still looking for answers but I should be there in shifter...looks like Jeff Carter(newbie) will be there in masters. He spent a lot of time Saturday and has gotten a ton better. Going to be HOOOOOT! SO bring plenty of water, beer or water ever spins ya!

Anyone have an opinion on the number of heats we should run with respect to the heat index we will be facing Saturday?

1 heat, 1 feature. I've gotten in better shape since last year, I dont get worn out as bad as I used to, but 2 heats seems like a bit much for club racing in 100 degree heat.

I'm fine with that if I can only request a little more practice time for the ones that may want it, I can certainly use it.

I will be racing in Masters.

Let's see what the weather really does. Right now the forecast is for a "cool" 94! But also 40% chance of T-storms so who knows what's going to happen. In June we were running late so 1 heat / 1 race was fine.

What do we usually do? 12/12/15 laps I think. Maybe 10/10/15 would help. Personally the more racing the better for me but after 5-7 laps it seems like we are a little strung out and the racing is about done.

Plus I've got family coming in to watch so I want to put on a good show!

Of course I'm writing this from an over-air conditioned office.

In any case I think we can make the call at Lunch on raceday.

I plan to be there racing in Master's. Considering the high heat in the afternoon I'd be open to running one heat and a final. Possibly a little more practice in the morning would help to offset.

I'll be there in Senior. How about we take the heat index, subtract 100, take the absolute value, and run that many heats?

Number of Heats

So, the hotter it gets the more heats Ken wants to run...........LOL! I just say we make it a subject for discussion at the drivers meeting like somebody said earlier. I wasn't aiming to start a controversy, just a thought for consideration, you know.

At least I didn't bring up the idea of running TAG or the issue with rear bumpers!

Hey I just thought of a good way to handle this. If you only want to run 1 heat and 1 race then just sit out the first heat! - just kidding. Looking forward to getting on track tomorrow.

I say let's go for a psychological edge and change the name from "heat" races to "cold" races. I think 2 heats and a main sounds daunting, but 2 colds and a final, that's doable.........

I agree with Richard. Let's run 10/10/15. Our fees are for three races so let's race. We did it last weekend on a hot day.
